Commissions & Made to Order
Commissions
If you'd like to place a commission, please use Contact form with as much details as possible. Alternatively you can send an email to commissions@ovgillies.co.uk. In the first instance you will receive information about the possibility of taking your commission on, including a quote if your commission is to be accepted. Then you will have an option of either to place a commission or to cancel it.
Please note that once commissions are accepted by both sides you will require to pay half the commission cost quoted upfront through PayPal. This is a non-refundable sum to compensate for the cost of materials and work involved in the initial stages of the commission. Once the commission is complete you will be sent details about it, including photos of the finished product, by email. If you are satisfied, you will require to pay the rest of the cost prior to it being dispatched to you. For more information, please see Terms and Conditions.
Made to Order
If you'd like to request an item that is currently unavailable, or you like a design but would like it in a different colour (scheme), then you have the option of Made to Order. Made to Order items will usually take 1-4 weeks to complete. This takes into account the complexity of the design and that materials might have to be ordered. However, I will try to complete your request as soon as possible and it even might be complete the same day.
Please note that although I will try to ensure that what you get is as close to the original design as possible, I cannot guarantee that I would be able to reproduce items with exactly the same shape, size or colour components. Variations are the intricate part of handmade, individual work and natural materials.
In some cases some of the materials and/or designs will have to be slightly changed due to exact materials being no longer available. In either case, you will be notified about the status of your order as soon as possible and you will have the option of either accepting, or changing it. Depending on the circumstances, some orders can also be canceled.
If you'd like to know beforehand if the item can be made and when you can receive it, then please do not hesitate to contact me before clicking ‘add to basket’ button beside the item that is shown not to be in stock.
Please note: Made to Order is different from Commissions. Made to Order items reference, replicate, or are like, items that have already been designed. While Commissions are placed for items which are designed from scratch and more to the customer's specifications.
